Meet our Founder: Dylcia Hernandez‑Dell’Era

Mom. Advocate. Ally.

I’m Dylcia—a proud mother of four amazing kids. Three of them have IEPs for neurodiversity (Autism Spectrum Disorder and Selective Mutism), ADHD, and one is a courageous burn-survivor. I’ve lived the stress, the paperwork mountains, and the hope that fuels families like ours.

Before starting Education Lowdown, I was an assistant principal with a background in social work (MSW) and educational leadership. I saw firsthand how families were lost in school bureaucracy, and how often —and I got fed up with the excuses. I decided enough was enough.

Now, I pour my energy into helping families stand tall, speak clear, and win the best education for their kids. Here’s what I do:

  • Podcast & blog: real talk you can use

  • Free 30‑minute consultation: get clarity, fast

  • Hourly consulting: actionable help, when you need it

  • Case management: I handle the back‑and‑forth so you don’t have to

  • DIY course: confident IEP coaching from home

Education Lowdown isn’t just a service—it’s my mission. I know what it’s like to sit in those meetings, juggling family life and the ticking clock. I’m here to give families the tools, voice, and backbone they deserve.
